Job Description / Capsule Field-based scientific authorities in the designated therapeutic domain manage the Medical Affairs Plan(s). Their focus is on pre-launch and/or newly launched products or indications. Compose clinical practice through scientific engagements, partnerships and collaborations with traditional (e.g. Specialist KEEs target MSLs and Primary Care Physicians for CSLs. When suitable, they extend to non-traditional authorities. Examples include regulatory and strategic influencers, patient advocacy groups, public sector entities, and innovative service providers. Collaborate with internal team members to improve patient outcomes and ensure the safe, effective use of AstraZeneca medicines. Developing and improving professional relationships and partnerships with medical practitioners and other healthcare ecosystem participants according to the Coordinated Engagement Plan. Provides scientific, technical, and pharmaco-economic information to HCPs and key collaborators through one-on-one discussions and medically lead meetings as guides and confidence generation activities. Can be involved and may lead evidence generation activities as part of the implementation of the medical strategy. Serving as motivators, they hold thorough knowledge of the health system environment, priorities, clinical pathways, and patient journeys. They gather insights and work according to medical strategic plans to achieve strategic, scalable, and balanced clinical practice transformations.
