Overview
Cloud Security Engineering focuses on designing, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining secure cloud infrastructures, applications, and services across public, private, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments. Cloud Security Engineers protect cloud resources from cyber threats by implementing identity management, encryption, network security, compliance frameworks, threat detection, security automation, and zero-trust architectures while ensuring business continuity and regulatory compliance.
What They Do
Design secure cloud architectures, implement Identity and Access Management (IAM), configure cloud security services, monitor cloud threats, automate security controls, secure containers and Kubernetes clusters, perform cloud risk assessments, implement encryption, ensure regulatory compliance, and respond to cloud security incidents.
Daily Responsibilities
Configure IAM policies, monitor cloud security dashboards, investigate security alerts, secure cloud storage and databases, implement encryption strategies, review cloud configurations, conduct vulnerability assessments, manage cloud firewalls, secure Kubernetes environments, automate security compliance, support audits, and collaborate with DevOps, cloud, and cybersecurity teams.
