Satellite Engineering focuses on the design, development, integration, testing, launch, operation, and maintenance of artificial satellites used for communication, Earth observation, navigation, weather forecasting, defense, scientific research, space exploration, and commercial applications. Satellite Engineers develop highly reliable systems capable of operating autonomously in the harsh environment of space for many years.
What They Do
Design satellite platforms, integrate payloads, develop onboard systems, perform mission planning, conduct environmental testing, support launch campaigns, monitor satellite health, troubleshoot anomalies, and manage satellite operations throughout its mission lifecycle.
Daily Responsibilities
Design satellite subsystems, prepare system architecture, perform power and mass budgeting, integrate payloads, support Assembly, Integration & Testing (AIT), conduct vibration and thermal vacuum testing, analyze telemetry data, monitor satellite health, coordinate launch activities, and support in-orbit operations.
