Estimated learning time: 10–15 months for freshers with strong aerospace fundamentals, propulsion knowledge, structural analysis skills, simulation experience, and launch vehicle projects.

Overview

Launch Vehicle Engineering focuses on the design, development, analysis, manufacturing, testing, integration, and operation of rockets used to transport satellites, spacecraft, scientific payloads, and humans into space. Launch Vehicle Engineers integrate propulsion, structures, aerodynamics, guidance, navigation, control, thermal protection, and systems engineering to create reliable vehicles capable of surviving extreme launch environments and delivering payloads accurately into orbit.

What They Do

Design rocket structures, integrate propulsion systems, analyze launch loads, optimize vehicle performance, develop staging systems, support launch testing, validate flight systems, perform trajectory analysis, and ensure successful payload delivery into orbit.

Daily Responsibilities

Develop launch vehicle designs, perform structural analysis, analyze aerodynamic loads, support propulsion integration, perform trajectory simulations, evaluate thermal loads, review manufacturing processes, support static fire tests, analyze telemetry data, prepare engineering reports, participate in launch campaigns and design reviews.
