Flight Test Engineering focuses on planning, executing, monitoring, analyzing, and validating flight tests for aircraft, helicopters, UAVs, spacecraft, missiles, and advanced aerospace systems. Flight Test Engineers ensure that aerospace vehicles meet design requirements, safety standards, regulatory certifications, and operational performance before entering service. They act as the bridge between design, simulation, manufacturing, and real-world flight operations.

What They Do

Develop flight test plans, instrument aircraft, monitor test flights, analyze flight data, validate aircraft performance, verify system functionality, troubleshoot anomalies, support certification programs, and recommend design improvements based on flight results.

Daily Responsibilities

Prepare flight test plans, install and verify instrumentation, monitor live flight parameters, collect telemetry data, analyze flight performance, evaluate aircraft stability and control, investigate anomalies, coordinate with pilots and ground crews, prepare flight test reports, support certification authorities during test campaigns.
