Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) focuses on the inspection, maintenance, repair, overhaul, troubleshooting, certification, and continued airworthiness of aircraft and their systems. Aircraft Maintenance Engineers ensure that aircraft remain safe, reliable, and compliant with aviation regulations before every flight. Unlike design engineers, AMEs work directly on operational aircraft and play a critical role in flight safety.

What They Do

Inspect aircraft, troubleshoot mechanical and avionics systems, perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, replace faulty components, certify aircraft for flight, conduct engine inspections, supervise maintenance teams, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain maintenance documentation.

Daily Responsibilities

Perform pre-flight and post-flight inspections, inspect engines and airframes, troubleshoot hydraulic, fuel, electrical, and avionics systems, replace aircraft components, perform scheduled maintenance (A, B, C, D checks), review maintenance manuals, record maintenance activities, certify aircraft release to service, coordinate with pilots and operations teams, ensure DGCA/FAA/EASA compliance.
