Aerospace Systems Engineering focuses on the complete design, integration, development, verification, and lifecycle management of complex aerospace systems such as aircraft, spacecraft, satellites, launch vehicles, and UAVs. Systems Engineers ensure that multiple engineering disciplines including structures, propulsion, avionics, software, controls, thermal, and manufacturing work together as one optimized system.

Define system requirements, develop aerospace architectures, manage subsystem interfaces, perform trade studies, coordinate engineering teams, analyze system performance, support integration and testing, and ensure the final aerospace product meets mission objectives.
