Overview

Aerospace Systems Engineering focuses on the complete design, integration, verification, validation, and management of complex aerospace systems such as aircraft, spacecraft, satellites, launch vehicles, UAVs, and defense platforms. Systems Engineers ensure that all subsystems including structures, propulsion, avionics, software, thermal, GNC, payloads, and operations work together as one integrated system while meeting mission requirements.

What They Do

Define system requirements, develop system architectures, manage subsystem interfaces, perform trade studies, coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, conduct verification and validation activities, manage risks, and ensure aerospace systems meet performance, safety, cost, and schedule objectives.

Daily Responsibilities

Analyze mission requirements, create system specifications, develop architecture diagrams, perform trade-off studies, manage subsystem interfaces, conduct design reviews, support integration testing, perform risk assessments, track verification activities, prepare technical documentation, coordinate with engineering teams, suppliers, and certification authorities.
