Overview
Aerospace Manufacturing Engineering focuses on transforming aircraft, spacecraft, rockets, engines, and aerospace components from engineering designs into high-quality physical products. Manufacturing Engineers develop production processes, optimize assembly methods, introduce automation, manage tooling, improve manufacturing efficiency, and ensure aerospace products meet strict quality and safety requirements.
What They Do
Develop aerospace manufacturing processes, plan production workflows, design tooling and fixtures, optimize assembly methods, introduce automation technologies, solve manufacturing problems, support new product introduction (NPI), and ensure components are produced according to aerospace standards.
Daily Responsibilities
Analyze engineering drawings, create manufacturing plans, develop assembly processes, design jigs and fixtures, support machining and fabrication activities, troubleshoot production issues, improve cycle time, perform process validation, coordinate with quality teams, support aircraft/spacecraft assembly, prepare manufacturing documentation.
